Michael Curry is president of ISU Curry Insurance Agency which he
founded in 1976. Michael’s 50-year insurance industry career began with a
five-year stint of employment at a Workers’ Comp insurance carrier. There
he learned all aspects of workers’ compensation insurance by holding a
position in every department of the company, from sales and claims to
loss control and audits. He then put in another five years at a commercial
insurance brokerage before starting ISU Curry Insurance Agency.
Michael earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics from Loyola
University (now Loyola Marymount University).
Michael founded ISU Curry Insurance to help businesses combat Workers’
Comp fraud, control claim costs and create a safety-conscious
environment for the good of all concerned. Proud of the company’s
ability to turn accounts around, Michael attributes the firm’s success to
in-depth industry knowledge, highly responsive service and fiercely
aggressive detection and handling of fraudulent claims.
Scott Curry is executive vice president and partner at ISU Curry Insurance. Michael Curry, Scott’s father and company founder, brought Scott into the family business in 1993 when Scott was 17. Scott began the old-fashioned way – from the bottom up.
Today, Scott is involved in all aspects of running ISU Curry Insurance, from human resources to building pivotal relationships with carriers. He has shared his industry knowledge by authoring three published articles including “Spotting Safety Hazards in the Workplace” for American Agent & Broker Magazine.
Scott is happiest when he is able to turn around companies which are being overrun by workers’ comp costs.
